- The village welcomes an estimated 200,000 visitors a year, with the train station being a popular attraction for its signs
- It opened in 1848. There was a fire in 1865 which meant it had to be closed while it was completely remodelled
- The station is known for its long name, but this is a Victorian contrivance for the benefit of tourism and has no basis in historical usage
