The ground is primarily used for football matches, but has also been used by local rugby leagues and for concerts 

Facts - 

  • • The Racecourse is the home of Wrexham A.F.C, the oldest football club in Wales and the 3rd oldest club in the world 
  • • The Racecourse stadium itself is the oldest international football ground 
  • • The largest ever attendance at the Racecourse was 34,445 attendees, for an FA Cup fourth-round tie against Manchester United in 1957 
  • • In October 2013, the stadium hosted the first 'autism friendly' football match in the UK. A group of around 50 attended the Racecourse to watch Wrexham v Woking 
  • • At the beginning of the 2018–19 season it was announced that the Racecourse was autism friendly – with allocated seating in a quieter area of the stadium, providing ear defenders, a quiet hub, and a dedicated steward. The club became the first in Wales to win an autism-friendly award in 2018, awarded by the National Autistic Society. 
  • • The stadium has eight allocated spaces for visitors with vision loss. There are 10 Audio Description Commentary headsets available on a first-come, first-served basis 
  • • Wrexham A.F.C was bought by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, the Racecourse will feature in their upcoming FX special ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, which centres around their purchase of the club and their appreciation of its community
