Rossett Mill


What is it? 

Rossett Mill is a 16th century Grade II listed mill 

Where is it? 

Chester Road, Rossett, Wrexham LL12 0HL 

What’s there? 

There is no public access to the mill, it is only viewable from the road 

Facts - 

▪ Construction of the original mill was completed in 1544, the surrounding villages would use it to mill their grain 

▪ The structure was replaced in 1588 which still houses the mill machinery today. The mill was extended in 1661 and again in the 1820s 

▪ The building was painted by artist JMW Turner in 1795 

▪ The mill was bought in 1973 by Mike Kilgannon, who restored the building and machinery. He opened the mill to the public at weekends, and sold flour milled on the premises. He was evicted in 2011 due to the debt he had incurred restoring the mill. New owners bought it in 2013 and the mill is now a private property.
